Two YA employees collaborated with others to design, build and install this multi-faceted project. Logica is an industrial design firm, the task was to create a lobby and display space that surprised, intrigued and in some cases, scared visitors. The concept utilized hard contrasts, kinetic enticements and interactive elements that imitated product design in order to function as a lobby machine. Elements included perforated display wall, magnets, vertically retractable partitions and doors, plus the exposed mechanisms and tension devices needed to move those partitions and doors. Other handmade components included: reception desk, bench, conference room, mobile doors and additional waiting, work and office spaces. A strong and trusting client partnership powered a remarkable and visually exciting result.
